WLB Miyako Award – Outline for Applicants

The Miyako, WLB(Work-Life Balance) Promotion Center,
Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine

  1. Purpose
    The purpose of this award is to encourage female researchers and young female researchers by recognizing their excellent research activities, to motivate them to research, to foster female researchers who will lead the future of education and research at the University, and to stimulate their research activities.

  2. Eligible applicants
    Applicants must meet all of the following 1-3 criteria.
     1.Post-degree female researchers (excluding lecturers and above) affiliated with the University who conduct research at the University. However, those who have received the award in the past are excluded.
     2.The applicant must have published at least three papers as the first author (regardless of the length of time).
     3.The applicant must be able to attend and present at the awards ceremony and presentation.
     Note: If more than one person is treated as the first speaker, only one person may apply for a single paper.

  3. Application Period
     December 9, 2022 (Friday) – January 20, 2023 (Friday)

  4. How to apply
    After obtaining the approval of the head of the organization, the applicant shall fill in the application form (Form 1), the applicant’s biography, research history, and statement of achievements (attached form), and submit the original form to the Director of the WLB Support Center Miyako with the approval of the head of the organization.

  5. Selection process
    The WLB Support Center Miyako Management Committee shall conduct the first round of screening, and the Research Committee shall make the selection after the second round of screening.
    The Director of the Research Division shall notify the Director of the WLB Support Center Miyako of the Research Committee’s selection results.

  6. Criteria for selection 
    Rate the following criteria on a 5-point scale.
     (1) General research activities such as publications, academic conference activities, and acquisition of research funds
     (2)Continuation and execution of research
     (3)Contribution to the University through education, medical care, and community service

  7. Number of adoptions
      1 case

  8. Extra prize
      The award winners will receive an incentive (100,000 yen) as a supplementary prize.

  9. Award Ceremony and Presentation
      Date and time: winter of the 5th year of the reign of peace (to be determined)
      Place: To be determined
      ※Selected candidates shall attend the awards ceremony and presentation (oral).
