WLB Young Researcher Award Guidelines for Applicants

The Miyako, WLB(Work-Life Balance) Promotion Center,
Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine (KPUM)

  1. Purpose
    The purpose of this award is to support the research activities of young researchers who conduct research activities at the University in a work-life balance, thereby encouraging them to lead enriched lives while contributing to medical science through excellent research, and to activate research activities by fostering young researchers who will lead the future of education and research at the University.

  2. Eligible applicants
    Those who meet all of the following criteria 1 and 2
     1. be under 40 years of age and currently enrolled in a graduate school of the University of Tokyo.
       However, those who have received the award in the past are excluded. 2.
     2. be able to attend and present at the award ceremony and presentation.

  3. Application Period
     December 9, 2022 (Fri.) – January 20, 2023 (Fri.)

  4. How to apply
    After obtaining approval from the head of the organization, the applicant shall fill out the application form (Form 1 attached) and submit the original approved by the head of the organization to the Director of the WLB Support Center Miyako.

  5. Selection process
    The WLB Support Center Miyako Management Committee shall conduct the first round of screening, and the Research Committee shall make the selection after the second round of screening.
    The Director of the Research Division shall notify the Director of the WLB Support Center Miyako of the Research Committee’s selection results.

  6. Criteria for selection 
    The following criteria will be evaluated on a 5-point scale (out of 20 points).
     (1) General research activities such as publications, academic conference activities, acquisition of research funds, etc.
     (2) Continuation and execution of research
     (3) Contribution to the University through education, medical treatment, contribution to the community, etc.
     (4) Social activities other than academic and medical activities

  7. Number of adoptions
    2 cases

  8. Extra prize
    The winners will receive an additional incentive (50,000 yen per person) as a supplementary prize.

  9. Award Ceremony and Presentation
    Date: Winter 2023 (tentative)
    Place: To be determined
    ※The selected candidates shall attend the award ceremony and presentation and make a presentation (oral).
