The following two awards were established in 2019 to encourage young and female researchers to contribute to medicine through excellent research and to open up a rich life. By recognizing outstanding research activities, the awards are intended to encourage the researchers concerned and young/female researchers who will follow them, foster young/female researchers who will lead the future, and stimulate research activities.

• WLB Young Researcher Award (regardless of gender)
  For researchers under the age of 40 who are currently enrolled in a graduate school of the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine.
• WLB Miyako Award
  For post-degree female researchers (excluding lecturers and above) affiliated with Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine.
• Research solicitations, grants, and awards other than those listed above.
• Online journal and literature search system
